SONOMA, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2018) - Motorcycle riders can enjoy a beautiful Northern California ride and a lap around the Sonoma Raceway road course, while also giving to a good cause, as part of the 18th annual Sonoma Raceway Thanksgiving Food Drive.

RKA, a Windsor-based manufacturer and retailer of motorcycle equipment and luggage, will host the 100-mile motorcycle ride through Guerneville and down the coast on Highway 1 on Sunday, Nov. 18; riders of all skill levels are invited. Riders are encouraged to bring five or more non-perishable food items or make a $10 cash donation to the food drive, which benefits Friends in Sonoma Helping (F.I.S.H.) and the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) in Santa Rosa.

The ride will depart from RKA at 8 a.m., with registration from 7-7:50 a.m. at their Windsor location. The ride will conclude at approximately 11 a.m. at Sonoma Raceway, and all riders will be invited to take a few laps around the Sonoma Raceway road course.

"We are so proud that Sonoma Raceway lets RKA and their friends do this year after year," said RKA Motorcycle Luggage owner, Richard Battles. "Giving back and helping others is most important, but the rides we do every year to get to the track are so much fun, and then to see the smiles on everyone's face as they come off the track is very special. There is nothing that can compare to riding around Sonoma Raceway."

The Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) is Sonoma County's largest hunger-relief organization, serving 82,000 individuals and families. In response to the great need of rebuilding Sonoma County, the REFB launched the Gallaher Challenge whereas the Gallaher family will match all new and increased giving to the REFB through Dec. 31, 2018. The family has committed to matching up to $1 million dollars. To learn more about the Gallaher Challenge In Support of Redwood Empire Food Bank, please visit www.refb.org.

FISH (www.friendsinsonomahelping.org) has been helping Sonoma Valley residents in times of need since 1970 and provides not only food, but clothing, transportation and emergency rental assistance to Sonoma Valley residents in need. F.I.S.H. helps keep families in Sonoma Valley from becoming homeless or going hungry and has been a beneficiary of the raceway's food drive since its inception in 2001.
