SONOMA, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2017) -- Sonoma Raceway will join in the festivities at the Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue "Thanking Our Community" Open House and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 12, by collecting food and toys for Sonoma County residents in need.
The event will take place at the Al Mazza Fire Station from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items for the raceway's 17th annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. All food items will be distributed to two Sonoma County food banks: Friends in Sonoma Helping (F.I.S.H.) and the Redwood Empire Food Bank in Santa Rosa.
In addition, Sonoma Raceway will accept toys for its 14th annual High-Powered Toy Drive. All toys will be distributed to nearly 300 children at the raceway's annual Race to the Holidays Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 9. New, unwrapped gifts for newborns to 12 year olds are needed.
The official Sonoma Raceway NASCAR show car will be on display at the open house alongside numerous fire safety activities.
