The Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) and Sonoma Raceway are proud to announce that $8,740 was raised to support local non-profits that serve families and children in need during Winter Jam, held last weekend at Sonoma Raceway. The funds for this significant contribution were raised from participants taking part in ride-alongs during the event.
Winter Jam, Northern California’s largest drifting event, took over various locations around Sonoma Raceway’s famed road course. The event featured courses for every skill level, providing opportunities for beginners to gain experience and for professionals to showcase the full power of their machines much to the delight of the spectators.
Participants had the unique opportunity to ride along in registered competition cars as they navigated the track’s most challenging courses. For a donation of just $20, attendees received a wristband granting access to ride as a passenger inside any registered drift vehicle all day long, with proceeds directly benefitting SCC’s Sonoma Chapter.
Courtney Kiser, Director of Speedway Children’s Charities Sonoma Chapter, expressed gratitude for the community’s support: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our participants and the dedication of our volunteers. The funds raised will make a significant impact on the lives of children and families in Sonoma County.”
Since its inception in 2001, the Sonoma Chapter of SCC has distributed over $6.8 million to qualified Sonoma County youth groups, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to the community.
