Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) Sonoma is now accepting grant applications and invites all Sonoma County non-profit youth groups to apply for the 2023 grant cycle.
Each year SCC Sonoma, the philanthropic arm of Sonoma Raceway, offers this opportunity to local organizations that serve children and families in need. Since the program’s inception in 2001, SCC Sonoma has gifted more than $7 million to more than 50 organizations in Sonoma County, helping children thrive with support from their community. Last year, $200,000 was distributed to 39 local organizations including Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Mentoring Alliance, Sonoma Valley Education Foundation, Redwood Empire Food Bank and many more.
Qualified grant applicants must be youth-focused, 501(c)(3) non-profit groups serving children and families in Sonoma County. This year, priority will be given to programs that support critical needs including food insecurity, homelessness, foster resources, and young victims of trafficking. While these are areas of priority, all applications will receive consideration.
Local organizations can apply online now through May 26, 2023 at www.speedwaycharities.org
SCC Sonoma is dedicated to caring for children in critical need to help them and their families live safe, productive lives. Through fundraising campaigns such as the “Adopt-a-Sheep” program, the popular Laps for Charity and annual events held throughout NASCAR and NHRA race weekends, participating fans and guests from the surrounding area and beyond contribute to the funds that the charity then distributes throughout the local community. From homelessness to food insecurity and everything in between, the organization takes on the heavy lifting of fundraising so community partners can focus on providing for children and their families.
