Northern California race fans can get a jumpstart on Sonoma Raceway's 50th anniversary season and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series weekend at Sonoma Raceway with the "NASCAR Toyota/Save Mart 350 Preview Show" on KTXL FOX40.
FOX40, the new home of the annual Toyota/Save Mart 350 Preview Show, is slated to debut the half-hour program on Wednesday, June 5, at 7 p.m. (Pacific). The show will air two more times leading up to NASCAR race weekend at Sonoma Raceway, June 21-23.
The preview show celebrates its 21st consecutive year with features including a look back at the raceway's 50 year history, as well as interviews with top-name NASCAR Cup Series drivers about the new circuit they'll face at Sonoma this year. As part of its 50th annivesray celebration, Sonoma Raceway announced that it will return to the full 12-turn road course for 2019, including the infamous Carousel turn, which hasn't been used by NASCAR since 1997.
The preview show will also feature interviews with "Sonoma Road Course King" Jeff Gordon, NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Childress and NASCAR champions Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson and Martin Truex Jr. Other features include a look at current California NASCAR drivers Kyle Larson, Matt DiBenedetto and NASCAR Pro West Series driver Hailie Deegan. Fans will also enjoy interviews with Clint Bowyer, Darrell Waltrip, Michael Waltrip and Toyota Racing Development President David Wilson.
Sonoma Raceway is ready to celebrate its 50th anniversary season with the great race fans of Northern California, June 21-23. Race weekend will feature great racing action as NASCAR drivers set their sights on a new course layout in wine country as well as their first road course of the season. The weekend will also include driver appearances, autograph sessions, a new fan viewing area "The Point" as well as an incredible race day featuring a "Legends Chat" with NASCAR legends Childress, Ernie Irvan and Hershel McGriff.
