Professional and local drifters will battle for points and championship titles when the West Coast's largest drifting festival returns to Sonoma Raceway for two days of high-speed action this weekend at Winter Jam, Dec. 21-22.
Winter Jam, hosted by Sonoma Drift, will take over six different locations around the facility, including two courses in the main paddock and courses at Turns 2-4, Turn 7, through the Esses of Turn 8 and around the hairpin at Turn 11 of the 12-turn road course.
More than 350 drivers will burn rubber alongside some of the best drifters in the world during this weekend's event, which concludes the 2019 Sonoma Drift season. Drivers will look to move up the ranks in professional drifting during several challenging competitions throughout the weekend, including Saturday's highly anticipated Team Tandem competition at 2 p.m. at Turn 11, in which three drivers will drift side-by-side, coming mere inches from the wall and each other. The Team Tandem competition is a fan-favorite and has seen unexpected local talent shine in previous years. Sunday features the Winter Jam competition located at Turn 7 at 2:30 p.m., in which the top-16 drivers compete for the 2019 Winter Jam crown.
A number of internationally acclaimed drifting professionals will chase for points at the event, including Australia's Luke Fink and Lithuania's Aurimas "Odi" Bakchis. In addition, professional drifter and host of MotorTrend's show Drift This Ryan Tuerck will also take to the track in his Toyota Racing 2019 Rear Wheel Drive Corolla Hatchback.
The weekend will also include family-friendly activities and games in the main paddock from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Several food vendors will be on site throughout the event in addition to the Raceway Café.
